My husband finally found the time to read my blog. That sounds bad, seeing as how we've been in China for 10 months now, but I assure you that, if I had felt rejected in any way by this, he would have heard about it - Numerous times.
Anyway, he pointed out that most of my stories have a word here, a phrase there in Mandarin which is not readily explained within the text. Though I was aware of this, in fact it was intentional (if I understood it at the time, I explained it in the text, if not, then the reader would feel just as lost as I was), I have decided to add little footnotes of explanation at the end of each story.
One of these days, if I have time, I hope to post an entry containing the pronunciations, definitions, etc. of the Mandarin I've quoted in my previous entries. However, at present, time eludes me. I've been feeling the urge to write again and have been laying down the rough drafts for a couple of the more difficult moments for me to re-live. Add that to the photography, the drawing, and most importantly, caring for Sam and Josh, and you've got yourself one busy woman.
Don't be surprised if I disappear for a while, then resurface with a new armful of stories to tell.
